Hi, if you go to support.hp.com you will be presented with a text box where you can enter your service tag for your computer, and then it should load your exact computer and allow you to extend your warranty as desired.  Since you let the warranty expire the cost might be a little bit higher and nothing should change once the warranty is extended other than you might get a little bit of tech support from HP and if any hardware fails in the computer within the warranty period then HP will either replace the dead part or replace your computer altogether.
