Hi all,

Hp Wolf Security got installed automatically and I understood that happened due to having HP Sure installed on the laptops and then HP Wolf Security got pushed.

Now it's a major issue for us as we are using Sophos security system and with HP Wolf the laptops get frozen and the performance is super bad where our employees can't actually do their job, it's impacting us as a business.

Plus removing this application really takes quite a time for our IT team where we have to call every individual who reports this issue.

What is the command to silently uninstall it from our environment?
and if there's another way around to proactively stop the application from getting installed for more laptops what it will be?

Thank you for your support in advance,

Hello @MVP8288

If you manage the security via different (3rd party) apps, you can uninstall HP Sure apps from your PC but to prevent them from function you can also de-provision them from BIOS/UEFI. HP security apps are somewhat tight to the BIOS/UEFI.

Posting the link to the document which explains the solution (so that it is available for the Community and other users)  >> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06114605

PDF page 15 and then 22...

Make sure you have HP Client Security Manager still installed.

  • Restart the PC and open the HP Start up menu (pressing Esc button repeatedly during start up),
  • open the BIOS (F10)
  • Go to Security tab
  • Then go to  Secure Platform Management

Do you see options there to Inactive or Deprovision the feature? If you do, please do so.

Make sure you Save the changes and restart the PC.

You can remotely push the changes to BIOS/UEFI settings via HP BCU utility (which runs in Windows). Here is more information >> https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_BCU.html

You can get at least 1 affected laptop and perform tests on it. Then, when you are sure it works, do it on all affected notebooks.

Please, reach to your local HP Support for additional assistance how to do it >> https://www.hp.com/emea_middle_east-en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html
