I have never used Windows 10, as I retired when Windows 7 was still used. I have a new laptop with Windows 10 and am not crazy about the vast changes from W7, and no real way to find out how to use this software. I've bought 2 books, and both are allegedly for "new" users, but they are not...far too advanced for me as I consider myself a ROOKIE at Windows 10. My wquestion is: how do I save an Excel file to EXCEL ONLY, as I don't want to save it on "One Drive"? And if we can't do that, WHY?
I don't want to have to go to One Drive, every time I click on my Excel desktop icon. I want to be able to just use my Excel icon and go straight to my Excel ONLY files..... Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I have found the help menu on this brand new computer, to basically have no instructions, like the W7 system had.... Has Microsoft decided to assume that their W10 system is INTUITIVE? it's not..... I can't even increase the size of the desktop icons like I used to be able to....they're so tiny I have to hold the laptop up to my face to read them.....

Please change Default files location using the following way
It is for Excel 2010 but very similar to Excel 2013, 2016 and 2019. plus Excel 365.
Regards.
