Thank you! Yes, the rollback driver worked.  Easy to follow directions!  Thanks again!

It doesn't work on my CM200x laptop. Rollback is greyed out even when device manager is run as admin

I'm replying to my own post because all of everything HP does is obtuse at best and otherwise diabolical. My laptop is a 17t-ck200 according to device manager. According to the box label it is 17t-cm200. And if I search further I'm sure HP refers to it as another number but I don't remember where I found that. Bottom line: I'm making sure everyone I know is entirely aware of the multitude of problems I've had with this and other HP laptops. After years on support assistant they don't even have the correct owners manual. That's a big clue. My experience is their hardware is among the best for the money. But their software and support are near the very bottom...

Is HP ever going to get together with Microsoft

and get this driver issue fixed??

Two months already and still getting the error.

That is how I thought.  I sent a message to Microsoft to talk about this since so many people have same problems. Their software is fighting each other!

I did the suggested rollback, and the pop-up is still happening even with the 1.83.4311.0 version still displayed as current.
