After replacing the battery in my Spectre x360 I now receive "boot device not found, please install an operating system, Hard disk - (3FO)". The laptop is a 2017 model (13-ac0xx)
Here is what I have done so far to trouble shoot:
- Rest BIOS to defaults
- Re-seat the SSD hard drive
- Check all cable connections on system board
- Tried replacing hard drive. Still receive same message on bootup
- Ran hard drive check in hardware diagnostics. Says hard drive is not found (on both old hard drive and replacement drive)
- Tried booting from Windows 10 bootup disk. Hard drive is not found by Windows.
I am attempting to upgrade the BIOS hoping that will solve this problem. However without Windows being recognized I don't have an option to upgrade BIOS in any of the BIOS or UEIF diagnostic menus. UEIF diagnostics menu is only:
- Memory Test
- Hard drive check
- Language
- Exit.
Can anyone offer suggestions on how to upgrade BIOS or even UEIF diagnostics version in this situation?
Thanks
