I have linux mint. I am fully aware HP and Microsoft really don't want you pulling the original os off of the system. I know HP doesn't make linux drivers. I heavily upgraded this laptop to 32gs of ram and 1tb of storage so taking it back is a no go. This thing is awesome. Has anyone figured out the driver issues or know of any repositories from versions of linux where I could get the drivers I need? My internal speakers don't work nor the pci slot, my screen wont suspend or "sleep." I run a wired internet connection but im pretty sure my wireless card isnt getting read either.

Laptops are the worst devices for Linux use because of the nearly total lack of drivers.  Everyone makes Windows drivers but no one makes Linux drivers.

There really is no repository of Linux Mint drivers other than what Canonical provides.

HP provides no Linux driver support, so your best bet is the Linux Mint forum.
