Update the BIOS

You use a variant of the BIOS biometric service if your notebook has a fingerprint reader. It provides support for the fingerprint reader by other hardware and software. See the HP and Driver Downloads for your particular model for the best performance. BIOS alerts.

To check the current version of your BIOS:

1. Click and choose System Information from the listing to click the power button to start the machine.

2. You will see the BIOS version.

Please note the latest Version.eck of BIOS:

Activate Biometric Support

@

You can deactivate or disable individual hardware components with some BIOS forms. The biometric authentication system is the hardware regulating the reader of fingerprints. There are options in the BIOS to activate and off the biometric device according to your computer's model number.

To track and activate your BIOS for biometric support:

  1. To start the machine, press the Power button to open the BIOS setup tool, and press the F10 key.
  2. Check for a biometric system alternative under System Configuration. Enable, where available.
  3. To save and restart the computer, press F10.

If you do not have a biometric option in your BIOS, you can always use the fingerprint reader. See if the fingerprint reader is powered by Windows.

STEP 4

Clean The Scanner For Fingerprint

To remove dirt and oil, you should regularly clean the reader sensor.

CAUTION: Do not use a wet cloth, which can damage the sensor because of humidity. Don't use a towel of paper since it can damage the sensor surface.
