Microsoft Windows 11

Good evening,
I have a problem with the HP Omen Gaming Hub software, it gets stuck, I manage to open the application but when I try to move through the menu the software does not respond. I have uninstalled the application and I have reinstalled it from microsoft store a lot of times but the problem persists. Curiously when I uninstall the application and reinstall it, on the first boot the application works but when I close it and open it again the application is blocked.
I have contacted HP support and they tell me that I have to reinstall all the windows 11 to see if the problem is in a bad Windows update, they also tell me that they can not guarantee that if I completely reinstall the Omen Gaming Hub system it will work....
Have any of you had this problem and have you been able to solve it?
I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you very much in advance.
Jose Luis

Hi joseluis1969240

Let's try a few things to get it working consistently:

  1. Run the application as administrator: Sometimes, permission issues can cause erratic behavior. Right-click on the HP Omen Gaming Hub shortcut (or find it in the Start Menu) and select "Run as administrator." See if this makes a difference when you open the app a second time.

  2. Check HP services: The HP Omen Gaming Hub might rely on certain HP services running in the background.

    • Press , type , and press Enter.Windows + Rservices.msc
    • Look for any services that start with "HP."
    • Ensure they are in the "Running" status and their "Startup type" is set to "Automatic."
    • If any are not running, right-click on them and select "Start." If they aren't set to automatic, right-click, select "Properties," change the "Startup type" to "Automatic," then click "Apply" and "Start."
  3. Clear temporary files: Corrupted temporary files can sometimes cause issues with applications.

    • Press , type , and press Enter.Windows + R%temp%
    • Select all files and folders within the "Temp" folder and delete them. Skip any files Windows says you can't delete because they are in use.
    • Repeat the process, but this time type (without the percent signs) and press Enter. Delete the contents of this folder as well.temp
    • Finally, repeat the process one more time with and delete its contents.%localappdata%\Temp
  4. Run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter: Since you installed the app from the Microsoft Store, the built-in troubleshooter might identify and fix problems with the store and its applications.

    • Go to "Settings" (Windows key + I).
    • Select "System" and then "Troubleshoot."
    • Click on "Other troubleshooters."
    • Find "Windows Store Apps" and click "Run." Follow any on-screen instructions.
  5. Check startup settings: Another application or service launching with Windows might be interfering with the HP Omen Gaming Hub.

    • Press to open Task Manager.Ctrl + Shift + Esc
    • Go to the "Startup" tab.
    • Temporarily disable all third-party applications (those not from Microsoft or HP) and restart your computer.
    • Try opening the HP Omen Gaming Hub again. If it works, re-enable the startup applications one by one to identify which one might be causing the conflict.
  6. Consider a previous version (if possible): If this issue started recently, you could try to find if there are older versions of the HP Omen Gaming Hub available (though this might be difficult if it's only distributed through the Microsoft Store).

  7. Review Event Viewer logs: The Windows Event Viewer can provide more details about errors occurring when the application crashes.

    • Press , type , and press Enter.Windows + Reventvwr
    • Go to "Windows Logs" -> "Application."
    • Look for recent errors or warnings related to HP Omen Gaming Hub or similar applications around the time it freezes. The details of these events might give you a clue about the root cause.

I hope the above is helpful
