Hi Binzzzzz,
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are facing an issue with your computer, I am glad to assist you today.
It sounds like you’re encountering a restriction from HP Sure Click, which is a security feature designed to protect against malicious content by isolating potentially unsafe files or links. When HP Sure Click prevents you from saving an embedded document, it’s usually because it considers the content potentially unsafe. Here’s how you can address this issue:
**1. Temporarily Disable HP Sure Click:
**A. Turn Off HP Sure Click Protection:
- Open HP Sure Click: Find the HP Sure Click icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen). Right-click on the icon and select Open.
- Disable Protection: Look for an option to disable or turn off protection temporarily. This option may be labeled as Disable, Turn Off, or something similar.
**B. Access the Embedded Document:
- After disabling HP Sure Click, try to download and save the document again. Make sure to enable HP Sure Click protection once you’ve completed the task to maintain security.
**2. Adjust HP Sure Click Settings:
**A. Check Policies and Settings:
- Open HP Sure Click Settings: Open the HP Sure Click application and look for settings related to file handling or security policies.
- Modify Settings: Adjust the settings to allow downloads from trusted sources. Ensure that any changes you make align with your security policies or organizational guidelines.
**B. Add Exceptions:
- Trusted Sites: If you are downloading files from a specific site, you might be able to add that site to a list of trusted sites or exceptions in HP Sure Click settings.
**3. Use a Different Browser or Method:
**A. Try Another Browser:
- Alternative Browser: If you’re using a specific browser, try using a different one to download the file. Sometimes, browser-specific settings or extensions might conflict with HP Sure Click.
**B. Download via Safe Mode:
- Safe Mode with Networking: Boot into Safe Mode with Networking (by holding Shift while selecting Restart and choosing Safe Mode with Networking). This mode may bypass some of the restrictions imposed by HP Sure Click.
**B. Request Exceptions:
- If you need to download documents frequently for your course, your IT department might be able to set up an exception or provide alternative solutions.
**4. Use an Alternative Device:
**A. Different Device:
- Use Another Device: If you have access to another device that does not have HP Sure Click installed, you can use it to download and save the documents.
**B. External Storage:
- Save to External Storage: Download the files to a different device or external storage, and then transfer them to your primary device.
**5. Re-enable HP Sure Click Protection:
Once you’ve downloaded and saved the necessary documents, re-enable HP Sure Click protection to ensure your system remains secure.
**A. Turn On Protection:
- Re-enable HP Sure Click: Right-click on the HP Sure Click icon in the system tray and select Enable Protection or a similar option.
**6. Review Security Policies:
**A. Understand Security Policies:
- Review Policies: Ensure that you are aware of and comply with your organization’s security policies when making changes to security settings.
By following these steps, you should be able to download and save the embedded document while maintaining your system’s security. If the issue persists or if you have specific security constraints, contacting your IT support team for guidance is often the best course of action.
