HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 15t touch Product #:8GE39AV_1 Model# 15-dq100
I received my laptop this week. As soon as powered on I noticed a couple of stuck/dead pixels right in the middle of the screen (White) and also the fan noise is very loud and looks like it runs constantly all the time. Very loud noise for the size of the laptop and its very annoying.
Not sure whether the pixel issue is covered by warranty and any advice or thoughts on the fan noise.
Thanks

@itsfighter To confirm if that's a dead/stuck pixel, here's what you need to do, if it's something else, it can be resolved:
- If not done already, check if it works fine on the BIOS screen to identify if it's either a hardware or a software issue:
- If it works fine on the BIOS (Accessed while tapping F10 during a restart) it's a software issue & I suggest creating a new user account to check if that works better, for starters)
- However, if it doesn't work within the BIOS either, I'm afraid it's a hardware malfunction.
While you respond to that, I have a few more steps that should help:
Perform a power reset (no data loss) using these steps: Click here, proceed to next step if this works
Attempt to run a test from the HP hardware diagnostic tool, using this link: Click here for details.
If the issue appears on the diagnostics, it could again, determine a hardware failure,
If they don't appear on bios & the hardware tests passed: please update the BIOS & Chip-set drivers from the HP website using this link: Click here
if the issue persists, reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue,
use this link for details on performing the recovery: Click here
Also, for the noisy fan: click here

Hi @Riddle_Decipher Thanks for your response. its only one-minute pixel (white ) . I can't see that in BIOS because bios screen is white background but as I can see that white pixel shows up even during booting ie., when the hp logo shows up during startup. I am not sure hp covers warranty for one pixel. I received this laptop 2 weeks back. Let me know thanks

@itsfighter generally, you would have a 15 day replacement policy with HP, although, that depends from store to store, as some stores offer 90 replacement policy as well, so you could get it replaced with a new HP device, that said, here's the HP pixel policy to understand how it works: click here for details.
