HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fe0000 (77X85AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

The other day my laptop was only working when plugged into the charger and wouldn’t charge over 78% but every time I tested my battery it said it was normal. I then updated and reset my laptop and after that my HP Support Assistant was saying my battery failed and to replace the battery. I made an appointment at my nearest Best Buy to go get the battery replaced and when they looked at it and ran the diagnostics, my laptop was working fine and my HP Support Assistant was no longer saying I needed a new battery. What would’ve been causing my laptop to say it needed a new battery??

Hi @mia123_

Welcome to the HP Support Community.,

I'd be happy to help you!

There might be a glitch, which might have given you that error. However, we need to keep that in observation to see if you are getting that warning again.

You may refer to this document and run battery calibration when needed.
