Ensure the touchpad isn't disabled via a hardware key (usually Fn + F5/F6/F7, check your keyboard icons) or in Settings > Devices > Touchpad. Restart your laptop to rule out temporary glitches. If issue remains, then download the latest "Synaptics/ELAN Touchpad Driver" or "Pointing Device Driver," install, from hp driver page of your laptop and restart in last
