I have hp victus 15 with Ryzen 5 5600h rx6500m , win 11 25h2

And I am not able to download drivers from amd website , like previous month when I ran auto detect it was able to detect only my dgpu and did not found my igpu

This month amd updated the drivers , this month the autodetect don't even run

The drivers provided by hp is like 1 year old

What is hp even doing , why do they abandon their product ,

Like they should atleast give some security updates or performance update  of the gpu drivers

I have this issue running spider man remastered ( I got a pop up saying drivers are outdated , at that point I was using hp drivers )

They are stable but at the same time restricting me to play many new titles , which like need some updated or recent amd drivers .

Hi @Omen81,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand your concern about outdated GPU drivers on your HP Victus 15 (Ryzen 5 5600H + RX 6500M) and the impact on gaming performance. Let me provide the guidance and troubleshooting steps:

Why HP Drivers Differ from AMD Generic Drivers

HP customizes graphics drivers for:

  • Thermal management and SmartShift technology
  • Power profiles and stability
  • Compatibility with HP BIOS and firmware

This ensures your system runs reliably under HP’s tested conditions. Using AMD generic drivers may remove these optimizations and cause unexpected behavior.

Recommended Steps

1. Check for Latest HP Updates

  • Go to the official HP support page for your model:
    👉 Official HP® Support
  • Download and install:
    • Graphics Driver (AMD)
    • Chipset Driver
    • BIOS Update (if available)
  • Restart your system after each update.

2. Use HP Support Assistant

3. Optimize for Gaming

  • Open OMEN Gaming Hub (preinstalled on Victus laptops).
  • Enable Performance Mode for better GPU utilization.
  • Ensure Hybrid Graphics or Discrete GPU mode is set correctly for gaming.

4. If the Game Requires a Newer Driver

HP recommends using the HP-certified driver for stability. However, if a game like Spider-Man Remastered requires a newer driver:

  • Confirm you have the latest HP BIOS and chipset updates.
  • If HP has not yet released an updated GPU driver, you can temporarily install AMD’s driver at your own risk.
⚠️ Note: This may disable HP-specific optimizations. If issues occur, roll back to HP’s driver using Device Manager → Roll Back Driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thanks for the reply

But still I want to ask wether hp will  provide  driver updates for this gpu or not , or have they completely forgotten/abandoned   this victus model .

My bios and every drivers are up to date on my system ( leaving these 1 year old gpu drivers )

You all guys do update the drivers when there is like some bugs or issues that community is facing

And I think this particular issue is not only with me , this is with every users who owns this configuration laptop

So kindly update these gpu drivers

There iare some gpu drivers  by amd out there in 2025  in  which dual gpu mode works nicely without breaking the system , the problem is that installer tells to download like two diff version of adrenaline , it doesn't provide a single unified package for both the drivers .

The rx6500m can be updated to the latest version , but the integrated graphics has became legacy ,it doesn't support latest versions of adrenaline

So Iike have no choice but to use hp drivers

They should be updated ,cuz other companies like asus , acer too updates their gpu drivers at least yearly or within 3 to 4 months

Hi @Omen81,

Thank you for taking the time to explain the situation in detail. We completely understand why you’re concerned about the driver update timeline, especially with a mixed-GPU configuration like the Ryzen iGPU + AMD RX 6500M. We definitely want to help you with accurate information.

To check the exact driver support status for your specific Victus configuration, we’ll need the full product model number (for example: 15-fb0xxx, 16-e1xxx, 15-fa1xxx, etc.).

The model number is usually found on the bottom cover or in HP Support Assistant.

Once we have the exact model, we can verify:

  • The latest AMD platform + discrete GPU drivers released by HP
  • Whether a driver update is already planned or in the pipeline
  • Whether the system uses HP-customized AMD packages (required for dual-GPU switching)
  • Whether the integrated GPU series has been moved to legacy support by AMD
  • What HP can recommend as a stable configuration for your model

Because driver support depends on the specific hardware ID, BIOS, EC version, and platform generation, the only way to provide accurate guidance is by checking the model.

Please share the exact product number (P/N) in a private message, not publicly, and we’ll check this for you and provide the correct update path.

Take care and have an amazing day!
