I am trying to connct a HP Spectre laptop to an Optoma Projector. With my previous laptop, I was able to connect the video cable from the projector to the laptop. This very thin laptop has no such video port. Please advise how to use my projector. Thanks.

Hi,
What is the exact model of the projector
What cable are you using at the moment? Probably VGA (since the notebook does have a HDMI port)?
VGA
Does the projector have a HDMI port (hence the request for exact model) and you could use a HDMI cable?
Let us know,
David

Thanks for the replay. I went online and bought a cable that connects to the VGA port on the Optoma projector (blue and has 3 rows of 5 prongs) and have connected it to the HMDI port on my laptop. I have a video but NO SOUND. Please advise what other I need for the sound.
Thank you!

The Optoma projector has "Digital Video" port but it's not labeled HDMI. I suspect it is just a USB POST.
I've been looking online. Do I connect the Optoma audio with a 3.5 audio cable to the "headphone" port in the Spectre laptop? Or is it better to get a 3.5 audio cable that connects to a USB port?
