Hp elitebook 2540p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp elitebook 2540p with a i7 L640 intel SSD 160 gb 8gb ram corsair and windows 7 64 bit.

I would like upgrade to windows 10 64 bit but i can not find compatible drivers. I've already tried updating but the touchpad was not recognized by windows, the touch bar does not work well, and I did not find any driver other than the video card driver.

I would like to know if there are drivers that are compatible with my notebook for Windows 10 64-bit.

thanks

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome !

Officially, your computer does not support Windows 10 as it is an old model. Only supported are Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

Windows 10 was not even created when Windows 10 arrived.

Although not officially supported ,if you plan to install and test with Win 10, you can post the hardware IDs of the missing hardware and someone might be able to find some for you (but no guarantee). Instructions >> http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Hardware-ID

Personally, I'd recommend you enjoy this computer with Windows 7. You have a wonderful notebook with excellent hardware configuration and nice operating system that will be supported by 2020. Fixing something that works usually breaks it 😉

Hi:

For any drivers you need, you will have to try the W7 drivers and hope they work.

Most of them usually will.

Not sure about the touchpad though, but the card reader and other devices will work with the W7 drivers.
