Hi @Menyelshewa

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems that you have uninstalled Wolf Security, but you're still seeing it listed as a startup program. This could happen if remnants of the software or its configuration files still remain on your system. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you remove "Protected by Wolf Security" from your startup:

1. Check Startup Programs in Task Manager

  • Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup tab.
  • Look for any remaining entries related to "Wolf Security" or "Protected by Wolf Security."
  • If you find any, right-click and choose Disable.

2. Check for Leftover Files and Folders

  • Go to File Explorer and check these common locations for any Wolf Security folders:
    • C:\Program Files
    • C:\Program Files (x86)
    • C:\ProgramData
    • C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming
  • If you find any folders related to Wolf Security, delete them.

3. Remove Residual Registry Entries

  • Press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  • Be very careful here. Deleting the wrong entries can affect your system.
  • Navigate to these paths and look for any Wolf Security-related entries. If you find them, right-click and delete them:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Tip: If you're unsure about a registry entry, you can back it up by right-clicking and selecting Export before deleting it.

4. Run a Full System Scan

  • Sometimes, leftover files can hide in your system. Run a system scan using a reliable antivirus or anti-malware tool (such as Malwarebytes) to ensure no components of Wolf Security are left behind.

5. Use System Configuration (MSConfig)

  • Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  • Go to the Startup tab (or in newer versions of Windows, it redirects you to Task Manager's Startup tab).
  • Look for any Wolf Security-related startup entries and disable them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
