Here are my symptoms.
USB-C no longer charges the laptop
USB-C no longer outputs to external displays
USB-C docks are not detected (but work on other computers)
Only low-speed USB 2.0 devices work (e.g., mouse)
Device Manager shows “UCM-USCI ACPI Device — Code 43”
When I try to find software and drivers for my model it does not show support for windows 11.
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating it feels when your docking station suddenly stops working with your HP Envy, especially since you’ve already noticed that only basic USB 2.0 devices are detected and the error in Device Manager points to the USB‑C controller.
You’ve done the right thing by checking drivers and compatibility, so let’s go through the steps that usually restore full USB‑C functionality.
Steps to restore USB‑C charging and docking
1. Perform a hardware reset
- Shut down the laptop completely.
- Disconnect the docking station and charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reconnect the charger directly to the laptop and power on.
- This clears temporary controller faults.
2. Update BIOS and chipset drivers
- Visit the official HP support page for your model:
HP Software and Driver Downloads - Enter your exact HP Envy model number.
- Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers (these include USB‑C controller updates).
- Restart the laptop after installation.
3. Reinstall the USB controller driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand System Devices and locate UCM‑USCI ACPI Device.
- Right‑click and select Uninstall device.
- Restart the laptop; Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
- Check if the docking station is detected again.
4. Test direct USB‑C functions
- Connect the charger directly to the USB‑C port to confirm charging.
- Connect an external display directly via USB‑C to HDMI/DisplayPort adapter.
- If these work, the docking station should also function once the controller driver is stable.
5. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
- Restart the laptop and press F2 repeatedly to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the Component Test > USB Test.
- This will confirm whether the USB‑C controller hardware is functioning correctly.
6. Windows updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all pending updates.
- Microsoft often includes fixes for USB‑C and Thunderbolt controllers in cumulative updates.
The most effective immediate actions are to perform a hardware reset, update BIOS/chipset drivers from HP’s support page, and reinstall the UCM‑USCI ACPI Device driver in Device Manager. This combination usually restores charging, display output, and docking functionality.

I had the exact same USB-C meltdown on my HP Pavilion 15 (upgraded to Windows 11)—no charging, no external display output, docks ignored, only slow USB 2.0 stuff working, and that pesky Code 43 on UCM-UCSI ACPI Device in Device Manager. HP's driver page not showing Win11 support is common for older models; it's often a firmware/driver conflict after updates.
This fixed it 100% for me (and several others on HP forums)—no BIOS flash or hardware swap needed:
- Unplug the charger and any USB-C devices/docks. Shut down the laptop completely (hold power button 10 seconds if needed).
- Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to drain residual power (this resets the USB-C controller).
- Open Device Manager (search in Start menu). Expand "USB controllers" > "USB Connector Managers" > right-click "UCM-UCSI ACPI Device" > Uninstall device (check "Delete the driver software" if available). Also uninstall any related "USB Root Hub" or "Thunderbolt Controller" entries.
- Restart the laptop (still unplugged). Let Windows auto-detect and reinstall the drivers (it pulls generic ones from Microsoft).
- Plug in the charger—check Device Manager; the error should be gone. If not, run Windows Update and install any pending chipset/USB updates (even if HP doesn't list Win11, Microsoft has backported fixes).
- Test: Plug in a dock/display/charger. If Code 43 lingers, download HP's latest chipset driver for your closest model (e.g., from support.hp.com—search by series) and run it in compatibility mode (right-click > Properties > Compatibility > Windows 10).
Full functionality returned immediately: fast charging, 4K display output, docks detected. If your model is truly unsupported, consider rolling back to Win10 via Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. https://kingroot.app/
Let me know your exact model for more tailored links—hope this gets you sorted!
