I have a problem with the keyboard backlight. It hadn’t worked for a long time, and then yesterday, after a restart, it started working. Today, it’s gone again. I don’t know how to turn it on. The video on HP’s official website didn’t help.

Hello.

First: If your laptop is covered by a warranty, contact HP and have them repair it.

If you don't have a warranty, continue:

Likely the keyboard has a fault or the keyboard backlight cable is loose, and the cable connector is accessible with just removing the bottom cover and the battery. This is a 5 minute job.

The cable is very short and there is minimal space to jiggle the cable, but in essence the cable is connected to ZIF connector which has a small flap that opens up and releases the cable. So, remove the cable and while the ZIF is still open push the cable back in and close the ZIF flap while holding the cable in place. Failing to insert the cable properly will cause the backlight to not work.

HP has an instructional video on how to replace all the parts in the laptop, and the brown(?) flat backlight cable is identified in 32:10. https://youtu.be/OFz8LqvMsec?t=1930

If you hesitate doing this yourself, any laptop/electronics repair shop can do it in no time.

If this does not help, the next step would be to replace the top cover with keyboard which requires completely dismantling the laptop which I do not recommend unless you have the expertise to do it yourself. I recommend taking the laptop in that case to a HP service partner and have them order the part and replace it.
