Hi @Ritika28,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there is an issue with your numpad where the keys are not functioning as expected. This could be due to several reasons, including a software glitch or a physical problem with the keyboard itself. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

Check Num Lock Key: Ensure that the Num Lock key is activated. Sometimes, deactivating it can cause unexpected behavior on the numpad.

Clean the Keyboard: Dust or debris might be obstructing the keys. Try cleaning the keyboard gently using compressed air or a vacuum cleaner designed for electronics.

Update or Reinstall the Keyboard Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager on your computer.
  • Find the Keyboard section, right-click, and select 'Update driver'.
  • If an update is not available, you can try uninstalling the device and restarting your computer. The driver will reinstall automatically.

Check for Software Conflicts: Some software might interfere with keyboard operation. Try closing background applications to see if this resolves the issue.

Test the Keyboard on Another Device: If possible, connect your keyboard to another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the keyboard or your computer.

Reset Keyboard Settings: Some computers have utilities to manage keyboard settings. Check if your computer has such an option and try resetting the settings to default.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
