I have the same model with a corrupted BIOS problem.

My 15-p203la laptop is having a problem. When I turn it on, it doesn't power up and the Caps Lock key displays a pattern: two presses, pause, two presses, pause, and repeat. I understand, if I'm not mistaken, that it's a BIOS issue. The problem is, I tried to find the BIOS recovery file in the support documentation, but I can't find it. Can you help me determine if my diagnosis is correct or what the problem might be?

HP has retired support for the model series since it is more than 10 years old, which is why you can't find any info for your notebook on the HP support site.

This is the latest BIOS update I could find for your notebook:  F.46

Yes, the BIOS is corrupted.

See if you can make a USB BIOS recovery drive with the above exe file.

I tried to do it on W11, but it won't let me. W11 has a security problem with one of the files inside the exe package.

Indicates that I have to change some security setting, but I don't want to do that.

I think it may work on W10 or older operating systems.
