I downloaded the latest BIOS, but I’m getting an error message due to insufficient space. How can I fix this issue?

The error means that the EFI system partition (ESP), not the C: drive, doesn't have enough free space for the BIOS update.
Your ESP is most likely 100 MB in size. Also, it is not accessible as it is not assigned a drive letter to.
You need to increase the ESP size or delete some files on it to create some free space for the BIOS update.
You can check the ESP to see if it has an HP folder, and if it stores BIOS files, you can safely delete them to create some free space.
If you assign a volume letter to the ESP and run notepad.exe in command prompt, you can view the content of the ESP in File Explorer and easily delete files without using the delete command. See this thread for how to run File Explorer to find files to delete in the EFI partition.

If you find the EFI\HP folder doesn't store any files, see this thread for how to delete the HP folder.
