@sk-221_df, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble with the webcam on your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 Laptop PC (2P1Z8AV) running Windows 11, and it's not showing up in Device Manager. Let's work through this together.
Check Webcam Privacy Settings
Some HP laptops include a webcam privacy switch or shutter key that disables the webcam at the hardware level.
- Look for a physical switch on the sides of your laptop or a keyboard key (usually F8 or F10) with a camera icon.
- If the key has an LED light, make sure it's off (light off = camera on).
- Press the key (sometimes with the Fn key) to toggle the webcam.
Reinstall the Webcam Driver
Even if the webcam isn't listed in Device Manager, it may be hidden or need a driver refresh.
- Open Device Manager → Click View → Select Show hidden devices.
- Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras. If you see your webcam, right-click and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Download Drivers from HP
Visit the official HP support page for your model and install the latest drivers:
HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 Drivers & Software
- Select Windows 11 as your OS.
- Download and install the HP Camera Driver (if listed).
- Also install the HP System Event Utility and Chipset drivers, which help detect hardware correctly.
Run HP Diagnostics
Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to check if the webcam hardware is detected:
- Press Esc repeatedly at startup → Select F2 for diagnostics.
- Run the Component Tests → Select Camera.
If the test fails or the camera is not detected, it may be a hardware issue.
