I have a new laptop and don't know how to insert the accents when typing in Spanish as the keyboard doesn't have the numbers on the left side.

I don't know that there is any way to do this without an actual Spanish keyboard and the Windows language packs to go with that.
There is a tool called FastKeys that allows you to define special key sequences and assign them to the key combination of your choice. But I have not used this and you would have to check with them to see if this is possible: FastKeys Automation Software
Good Luck
