Hi @My7605

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’ve accidentally set your HP 7605 printer to Chinese during the installation process and now need to switch it back to English. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you change the language back to English:

1. Change the Language on the Printer’s Control Panel

If your printer has a touchscreen control panel, you should be able to navigate through the settings to change the language.

Steps to Change the Language:

  1. Turn on your HP 7605 and make sure the printer is powered up.
  2. On the Home screen (where you can see options like Print, Scan, etc.), look for a "Settings" or "Setup" icon. This is usually represented by a gear or wrench symbol.
  3. If you can’t read the Chinese text, look for the icon and select it.
  4. Inside the settings menu, navigate through the options until you find the "Language" setting.
    • If you're having trouble finding it, it’s often under a "Preferences" or "General Settings" menu.
  5. Once you’re in the Language setting, the options should appear in Chinese. Look for the option that corresponds to English. It’s usually the first option or it will say "English" in characters.
  6. Select English and confirm the change.
  7. After changing the language, the printer should display the menu in English.

2. Using the HP Smart App (if Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi)

If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, you can also try to use the HP Smart app to change settings on your printer:

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
  2. Select your HP 7605 printer in the app.
  3. Go to the Settings or Printer Setup section.
  4. Look for Language and change it to English.

3. Reset to Factory Defaults

If you’re unable to navigate through the Chinese interface, you might want to reset the printer to its factory settings:

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds.
  3. The printer should reset, and you’ll be able to start the setup process again, including selecting the language (this time choosing English).

4. Check the User Manual

If you are unable to resolve the issue using the steps above, you can also refer to the user manual for your HP 7605 printer for more specific guidance. You can find it on the official HP Support website for your model:

  • Go to HP Support > HP 7605 printer > Manuals.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel Thanks for your suggestions

I worked it out in the end two days ago.

First installed printer on my Windows PC using APP.

Used the printer to locate a Wi-Fi icon next to Chinese writing then established secure WIFI connection to printer via LAN.

On App changed language and updated software'.

Whole process took about 2 3 hours but all ok now.
