Hi:

See if you can install the latest driver Intel has for the HD 4000 graphics as follows...

Download the W8.1 64 bit zip file driver version from the link below (3rd file down on the left).

Version: 15.33.47.5059 (Latest) Date: 9/18/2018

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28164/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=814...

Unzip the file to its folder.

Go to the device manager.   Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped Intel graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh64 (setup information file), click Next, and see if the driver updates that way.

If so, restart the PC after the driver installs, and you should have the very latest driver available.

Otherwise, this is the latest Intel graphics driver HP has for your model...
