HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the PC leaves the assembly plant.
So, the more time that has passed between the time the notebook was made and the time you bought it, that is why there is time missing from the warranty.
You have two options to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted.
1. Submit an online warranty dispute form.
2. Contact HP customer service at the link below and work with a customer services representative to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted.
