Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-r0000 (76T03AV)

Hello HP Support Team,

I own an HP Victus 16 (model R0027NT) which has been working fine for about 2 years. However, I have recently read many reports on HP forums and Reddit about Hall sensor malfunctions in various Victus 16 models.

From what I have gathered, the symptoms are:

The laptop randomly thinks the lid is closed, turning off the display.

In some cases, users report this happening more frequently when the system gets hot (heavy gaming / CPU & GPU load).

Some users suggest that the Hall sensor might be located close to the heatpipes, making it vulnerable to thermal stress.

I would like to ask:

What are the official reasons for Hall sensor failures in the Victus 16 series?

Does this issue affect Intel-based models as well, or is it more common with AMD-based ones?

Are there any preventive measures users can take — for example, would applying a thin layer of Kapton tape insulation around the sensor to protect it from heat be a recommended or safe solution?

In case the Hall sensor fails, is there an official repair or replacement program available?

My warranty will expire in 7 days. If this issue appears after the warranty period — considering it seems to be a chronic design issue reported by many users — will HP still provide support or coverage for this problem?

I am asking this proactively since my laptop is still working fine, but I would like to prevent this problem before it happens.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

FURKAN GÖRÜR
