ProBook 6550b
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm having trouble updating the Intel Management Engine Firmware. I tried DOS and windows versions of the update (sp80146 and sp80282) but I'm always getting "Error 8704: Firmware update operation not initiated due to a SKU mismatch". What does this mean? Is my laptop SKU not supported? What are the supported SKUs?

My laptop is HP ProBook 6550b, product number WD706EA#AK8, Intel i5 M450, bios 68CDE Ver F.60. According to the release notes this is a supported system ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80146.html

This is supposed to be a critical update (CVE-2017-5689) so I'd really like to get it done.

Also https://h30492.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Error-8704-SKU-Mismatch-Intel-ME-FW-Update-critical/... this guy seems to be having the same problem with ProBook 6450b so I guess I'm not alone with this issue.

Exatly same issue with my Probook 6450b with no google-able  solution solution from HP experts or any other.

Same for F.50 and F.60 BIOS version. No BIOS password. Windows ver. of FWUpdLcl.exe from sp80146.exe generates exactly same issue.
