Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that you have an HP ENVY Notebook - 13-d008na laptop and the Intel Serial IO driver upgrade fail to install. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
May I know if there is an error message while trying to install the Intel Serial IO driver upgrade?
Meanwhile, I did some research and found that the latest Intel Serial IO driver can be downloaded and installed via this HP link.
Alternately, you may download and run the HP Support Assistant tool. This tool will detect and install the required updates and drivers for your laptop.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

HP Link which you have given in response here downloads the following Driver: sp79045. This driver is already installed on my HP 360 Laptop as it is asking to overwrites to all during installation. The new driver: sp82504 which is shown as per the HP Support Assistant is not getting installed and shows the status as: Failed.

Automatically uninstall and reinstall the HP Support Assistant by going to https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html and clicking the link with the red background that says, "Download HP Support Assistant".
OR
Go to https://support.hp.com/drivers and then after HP identifies the product, expand "Driver-Chipset" and download the correct driver from the list.
