Problem Description:
Hello,
I am facing two issues with my HP laptop:
1. Internet Issue: My laptop is not able to access the internet when connected via cable (Ethernet). However, Wi-Fi seems to work.
2. Sound Issue: The sound driver is not working properly. There is no sound coming from the speakers even though the volume is up. I have tried reinstalling the driver but it did not fix the problem.

Hi @mahmudmdfoisal2,
Welcome to HP Support Community!
We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊
1. Check Ethernet Connections:
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely plugged into both your laptop and the router.
- Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out any issues with the current one.
- Connect the Ethernet cable to another device to determine if the issue is with the cable or the network.
2. Update Network Drivers:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters section.
- Right-click on the Ethernet adapter (usually labeled something like Intel Ethernet Connection or similar) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the prompts to install any available updates.
- You can also download and install the latest driver for your Ethernet adapter from the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
3. Enable and Disable the Ethernet Adapter:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the Ethernet adapter and choose Disable.
- After a few seconds, right-click on it again and choose Enable.
4. Check Network Configuration:
- Open Settings by pressing
Windows Key + I
. - Go to Network & Internet > Status.
- Click on Network troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
Sound Issue:
If there's no sound coming from the speakers even after reinstalling the driver, follow these steps:
1. Check Volume and Mute Settings:
- Make sure the volume is up and the mute is turned off.
- Click on the Volume icon on the taskbar and adjust the volume slider.
2. Set Default Playback Device:
- Right-click on the Volume icon on the taskbar and select Sounds.
- In the Playback tab, make sure your speakers are set as the default device. Right-click on the speakers and select Set as Default Device if they aren't already.
3. Troubleshoot Sound Problems:
- Right-click on the Volume icon and select Troubleshoot sound problems.
- Follow the prompts to identify and fix any issues.
4. Update Sound Drivers:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
- Right-click on the sound adapter (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.
