The information held in the BIOS of my laptop is incomplete - see Hardware Model below:

Is there any way I can edit the Hardware Model field? 

The laptop dual boots with Linux so a Linux app would do.

You would have to take the notebook into an authorized HP PC repair center and have them 'tattoo' the missing information into the BIOS using HP's proprietary DMI tool which is not available to the public.
