HP 620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I recently upgraded my laptop HP 620 - S.N. 5CG112193H with new SSD disk and new processor T7300, but when it starts shows a message " bios does not support current stepping for processor FB" and after that windows starts and work normally. Before upgrading the processor I updated the bios to the last version, which is f.20. So, is there a way to put some newer BIOS version and fix this stepping error or should I put back my old processor T3500?

Thanks !

Hi:

You can only use the BIOS versions listed on your notebook's support page.

Here is the link to the quickspecs for your PC.

The supported processors can be found on page 3.

Since it came with a Celeron processor, your notebook has the Mobile Intel GL40 chipset which means the best processor you can install on that list would be the T4400.
