I am experiencing an issue with my HP Pavilion x360 when using the Bamboo Ink Stylus. The problem occurs when the stylus is connected via Bluetooth and affects the keyboard.
When I use the stylus and try to type on the keyboard (physical or touchscreen), random applications open when i try to use the keyboard to write. The only way to temporarily fix the issue is to restart the pc and not use the pen... The stylus itself works fine for writing and drawing, but the keyboard malfunctions as soon as the stylus is paired via Bluetooth.
I have updated the Bluetooth drivers and other relevant drivers via Device Manager. Using the stylus without Bluetooth resolves the issue, but I cant use it then.

Hi @LUNA0371,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it must be to face such disruptions when trying to use your Bamboo Ink Stylus and keyboard together, especially after ensuring all drivers are updated. Let’s work on getting both to function seamlessly.
- Does this issue happen with all applications, or only specific ones?
- Have you tried unpairing and re-pairing the stylus, or resetting its settings?
- Are there any specific gestures or actions on the stylus that might trigger app shortcuts?
Check for Conflicting Shortcut Settings:
- Some Bluetooth devices (like the stylus) can trigger shortcuts.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
- Review the Pen shortcuts section and disable or customize them to prevent conflicts with the keyboard.
Disable Handwriting Panel Input:
- Open Control Panel > Ease of Access > Handwriting Input Panel Settings.
- Uncheck options like Allow input panel to automatically appear and test if this resolves the conflict.
Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers:
- Open Device Manager > Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop to allow Windows to reinstall the driver.
- Alternatively, download the latest driver from HP's support page for your Pavilion x360.
Update the Bamboo Ink Stylus Firmware:
- Visit the manufacturer's website and check if a firmware update is available for the Bamboo Ink Stylus.
- Updates may resolve compatibility or functionality bugs with specific devices.
Perform a Clean Boot:
- Perform a clean boot to identify if a background application or service is causing the keyboard and stylus conflict.
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
- Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services and click Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab in Task Manager and disable all startup items. Restart the system and test the keyboard and stylus functionality.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, there may be deeper compatibility issues between the stylus and Windows.
