HP Elite x2 G4 IDS Base Model Tablet

Hello, I am experiencing an issue with my HP Elite x2. After opening the device (lifting the screen), the physical keyboard does not work and the system remains in tablet mode. Conversely, when I close the device (lower the screen), it unexpectedly switches to laptop mode.  It seems that the device misinterprets the device mode (tablet vs. laptop) and possibly fails to detect the keyboard hardware correctly. This behavior suggests there may be a problem with the sensor or keyboard connector.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue or whether a hardware repair is required?

Thank you in advance!

A few days ago, the issue was resolved when I caught the latest Windows update. Everything is working as it should now. Thanks to everyone who viewed my post!

My keyboard stopped working again
After the latest Windows update, the same old issue is back: when the laptop is unfolded, it switches to tablet mode; when folded, it thinks it's in laptop mode.
Exactly the opposite of what it should be.
Any fixes, or is it rollback time again?
