I am trying to activate my free Game Pass trial via the Omen Gaming hub but it is not working. it launches the Xbox app but only provides me with the paying trial. I have tried the various suggestions on other posts but none work. eg I've tried updating both apps, ensuring I am logged into both apps with the same account etc. Could someone help me with this please?

I understand you're having trouble redeeming your free Game Pass trial through the OMEN Gaming Hub, which should automatically link to the free trial rather than the paid version. Let's go through a few troubleshooting steps to help resolve this:
1. Verify Game Pass Offer
- Check the Terms of the Free Trial: Make sure your device is eligible for the free Game Pass trial by reviewing the terms. Sometimes the free trial is region-specific or may only be valid within a certain time frame.
- Confirm Account Eligibility: Ensure you are eligible for the Game Pass trial (e.g., you haven't redeemed a similar offer before).
2. Sync OMEN Gaming Hub and Xbox App
- Log Out and Back In: Log out of both the OMEN Gaming Hub and Xbox app. Then log back in with the same Microsoft account on both apps.
- Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub and Xbox App:
- Uninstall the OMEN Gaming Hub and Xbox app.
- Reboot your laptop.
- Download and reinstall both apps from the Microsoft Store.
3. Check for Updates
