HP Pavilion Gaming - 17-cd0033na

Two days ago, my laptop was working perfectly. However, yesterday, after noticing a significant drop in FPS (60 to 8), I discovered that my NVIDIA GPU was 'not connected'.

I attempted to reinstall the drivers, which didn't work as the installer couldn't detect an NVIDIA GPU. Now the GPU won't even show up in the hidden devices in Device Manager. I suspect it may be an Unknown Device.

There was an issue with PCIe Controller (x16) - 1901 as well, which was giving an error code 10. From what I've read, this is related to the GPU issue. I attempted to reinstall the drivers for that by installing the chipset package provided by Intel, but that didn't work either. The PCIe Controller also doesn't show up in Device Manager anymore. (EDIT: It shows up now, but the error code 10 is still there).

Even a complete reinstallation of Windows didn't help to solve this.

Can someone please help me? Do I need drivers for the PCIe Controller (I can't find thm anywhere)?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Let's perform Microsoft system restoreSystem Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected: Here is a link to perform a system restorehttps://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03327545

  1. Shutdown the computer.
  2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
  3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.
  4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.
  5. Click on Troubleshoot.
  6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Restore.
  7. Choose a Restore point or a Restore date when the computer was working fine.
  8. Click on OK to initialize the System Restore.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
