Hi @Keishy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how it must be to deal with a jumpy cursor, especially when you’re trying to get work done while charging your laptop.

Could you please share the exact HP laptop model you’re using, along with details like whether you’re using the built-in touchpad or an external mouse? Also, does the issue occur only when charging, or do you notice it at other times too?

Here are a few  steps you can try in the meantime:

Check power adapter: Ensure you’re using the original HP charger, as third-party adapters can sometimes cause electrical interference.

Update touchpad drivers: Go to Device Manager and update your pointing device drivers. Outdated drivers often cause cursor behaviour issue .

Test with external mouse: Plug in a USB or wireless mouse to see if the issue persists. This helps identify if the touchpad is the source.

Adjust touchpad sensitivity: In Windows settings, lower the sensitivity to reduce unintended cursor jumps.

Run hardware diagnostics: HP laptops have built-in diagnostics you can run to check for hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
