After replacing my broken screen, the keyboard no longer works. It responds to clicking a key but won't type. Also backlights work and change when I use my usb attached keyboard (ig. caps lock). I believe it is software related but I can not figure it out. Help

We are not HP Tech Support and we have no way of diagnosing or fixing hardware issues from here.
Something happened either when you disassembled the PC to remove the old screen or when you reassembled it to insert the replacement screen -- and what will require hands-on examination to determine what went wrong and what needs to be done.
Sorry, but this is just a self-help forum staffed mostly by volunteers and we are neither able, nor permitted, to provide any repair estimates or equipment prices.
For this information, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.
If you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:

If you live outside the U.S., here is a link to HP Service Centers, by Country/Region: https://support.hp.com/in-en/service-center
Good Luck
