When I put my cursor in the dialog box and begin typing, instead of inputting a keyboard character it opens an App. For example: When I press the "A" key the notification window opens on the right side of the screen, pressing the "S" key the "type hear to search" opens, pressing on the "D" shows the desktop, etc. Nothing is inputted in the dialog box. This does not happen until after having my laptop on for some time, and when I restart everything is back to normal. HELP-PLEASE!

There is a key on your keyboard with a "window" on it -- that is known as the Windows key. When you press that and other keys, you get the results you are indicating.
Here is the list of special key functions for Win10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12445/windows-keyboard-shortcuts
Look at the Windows Logo Keyboard shortcuts to see what I mean. If you are not pressing that key, then it is stuck ON in your keyboard.
