So, based on what I can tell/feel, there seems to be a slightly longer delay for registering keys that are held down. Like if I hold down a key, it'll only type that letter once and then wait like 1 second before it registers that the key is being held (and therefore, it should type more quickly).

This is really annoying especially with the backspace key. Normally, it'll just very quickly delete everything so long I'm holding the key, but it's definitely taking longer now.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Go to keyboard properties (use the Windows search to find it) and set the repeat delay to short. Should work for you.
