A few days ago, I transferred thousands of image files to my laptop. Since then, it's been running really slow. I deleted those files, but the system is still lagging. I even tried freeing up more space, but the issue persists.

Hi @Sharvin123,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
1. Restart Your Laptop
- Sometimes a simple restart can resolve many issues.
2. Check for Background Processes
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click on the "Processes" tab.
- Look for any processes that are consuming a lot of CPU or memory and consider ending them if they are unnecessary.
3. Update Your Operating System
- Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest patches and updates.
- For Windows users, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click "Check for updates."
4. Update Drivers
- Outdated or faulty drivers can often cause performance issues.
- Go to Device Manager, find the device types and update the drivers.
5. Run Disk Cleanup
- Use Disk Cleanup utility to free up space by deleting unnecessary files.
- Search for "Disk Cleanup" in the Start menu, choose the drive you want to clean up, and follow the instructions.
6. Scan for Malware or Viruses
- Run a full system scan using your preferred antivirus software to ensure there are no infections slowing down your laptop.
7. Defragment Your Hard Drive
- If you're using a traditional HDD (not SSD), defragmentation can help to optimize performance.
- Search for "Defragment and Optimize Drives" and run the optimization for your drives.
8. Manage Startup Programs
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click on the "Startup" tab.
- Disable any unnecessary programs that start up with Windows.
9. Check for Hardware Issues
- If the problem persists, it could be a hardware-related issue such as failing RAM or hard drive.
I hope this helps.
