Hi @Lekye ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with the search bar and the language bar after updating to Windows 11,

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix many issues with the operating system.

Check for Windows updates: Make sure your Windows 11 installation is up to date. Microsoft frequently releases updates to address bugs and improve system stability.

Check language settings:

  • Go to Settings > Time & language > Language.
  • Make sure the correct language is installed and set as the default.
  • If the language bar is still not showing, you can try enabling it:
    • Go to Settings > Time & language > Language.
    • Under "Preferred languages", click on the language you're using, then click on "Options".
    • Make sure the "Input method" is set to the correct keyboard layout.
    • Under "Keyboards", click on "Add a keyboard" and select the keyboard layout you want to use.

Reset Windows Search:

  • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type "services.msc" and press Enter to open the Services window.
  • Scroll down and find "Windows Search" in the list of services.
  • Right-click on Windows Search and select "Restart". If the option is grayed out, select "Properties" and set the Startup type to "Automatic" and click "Apply".
  • Restart your computer and check if the search bar is working properly.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot.
  • Click on "Other troubleshooters" and run the "Search and Indexing" troubleshooter.

Check for third-party software conflicts: Sometimes, third-party software can interfere with the normal operation of Windows features. Try disabling any recently installed software to see if it resolves the issue.

Perform a system restore: If the issue started after a recent change or installation, you can try performing a system restore to revert your system to a previous state when everything was working fine.

Reinstall Windows 11: If none of the above steps work, you may need to consider reinstalling Windows 11 to resolve the issue. Make sure to back up your important files before proceeding with a reinstall.
