It turns out that the old power adapter supplies 15.13 Volts despite nominally 19 and so the problem persists even when powering through the jack adapter

I unplugged the old power adapter and plugged back its own and the charge is working as it should again, the voltmeter now reads 19.77

Thank you for the answer, but that did not help me.

The battery for this device is not detachable so I couldn't remove. I followed the steps you mentioned there (without nr. 7, the one with the battery remove) but when I've "Search automatically for updated driver software"  for the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" it didn't find anything, said that I already have the best drivers installed.

Do you have any other suggestion?
