Hi folks,
I hope you are well and perhaps help me out in a laptop speed issue.
I have a Pavilion 15-bc350na Laptop, with a 1tb HDD and have also upgraded to 16GB RAM.
However, no matter how powerful my laptop is, it keeps on running really slow. Particularly when starting up, and when opening the likes of Chrome, or any video game or office package to be honest.
I have attempted the following:
- Defrag of system and clearing of temporary files;
- Full virus check using my Norton 360 subscription;
- Switched off many background software at start-up using Norton, such as Spotify, iTunes, or any other RAM intensive software I can find on the list without being a hindrance.
- Clearing out HDD memory, but to be honest, I still have almost 400GB left on my 1Tb HDD.
I don't know why it would run so slowly with such powerful RAM and with plenty of memory left.
I can only think that it would perhaps need me to upgrade to SSD. Or it is perhaps the Windows 10 OS upgrades that are slowing it down.
Any ideas, guidance or advice welcomed. Feel free to ask me for more details if I haven't provided enough.
Many thanks,
Adam
