Design Capacity : 2800 mAh
Full Charge Capacity : 1005 mAh
This means it is down to about a third of its original strength. You already said you don't want the obvious advice so I won't say it. Good luck finding someone who can give you some easy instructions how to resurrect a battery that is obviously on its last legs.

You want help but you also want to dictate terms. You don't give us the model number perhaps so we can't tell how old the battery is so we will not jump to the obvious conclusion so I will ask the obvious questions:
What model number?
How old is the battery?
You say the battery is OK. Convince us. What did the advanced test say about the number of cycles and the charge capacity?
