Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am experiencing an issue where my laptop shuts down unexpectedly when the battery drains to 20% of its current charge. For example, if my battery is at 100%, it shuts down when it reaches 80%. Similarly, if the battery is at 60%, it will turn off at 40%. The shutdown is sudden, and my laptop does not power back on unless the charger is plugged in.

When I attempt to turn the laptop back on, the battery level remains the same as it was before the shutdown (for example, if the laptop is powered off at 80%, the battery will show 80% when I turn it back on). Upon booting up, the laptop enters BitLocker recovery mode, requiring me to enter the recovery key to access my system.

Key Observations:

  • Battery Behavior:
    • The laptop shuts down prematurely when the battery reaches 20% of its current charge.
    • After the shutdown, the battery percentage does not change and remains the same as before the shutdown.
  • BitLocker Recovery Mode:
    • After restarting the laptop, it automatically triggers BitLocker recovery mode, requiring the recovery key to unlock the system.
