Hi @Tradley1
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Great question! Here’s the key detail:
HP Care Packs are associated with the hardware serial number of the device they were purchased for. That means the coverage follows the laptop itself, not the individual owner.
If you sell your HP Omen Max 16, the Care Pack coverage will remain valid for that machine until the end of the service period. The new owner can benefit from the extended warranty as long as the Care Pack is properly registered to the laptop’s serial number.
Note:
- Provide documentation: Share the Care Pack proof of purchase and registration confirmation with the buyer.
- Confirm registration: The Care Pack should already be registered to the laptop’s serial number. If needed, the new owner can contact HP Care Pack Registration support to update their contact details.
- Warranty check: The new owner can verify coverage through HP Support Assistant under My PC → Warranty and services.
So yes, the Care Pack is transferable in practice because it’s tied to the hardware, not the person. The buyer just needs the serial number and proof of coverage to continue using it.
