Hello

Thank you for contacting Hp Support Forum!

My advice to you is that if you can try or have the possibility to use a similar adapter from another laptop to check if it has same symptoms or vice versa. use that same adapter on a different laptop to discard that the issue is the voltage or adapter.

* Be carefull and doublecheck that the adapter is not overheating or getting too warm, if so, do not try anymore and change your adapeter.

* Make sure to plug computer power cord directly to the wall and try to avoid using power strips.

* You can also check on your computer if there is any Bios update pending that can solve the issue.

* check your Bios version and date on System Information.

* Check for latest versions on HP.com__  https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers__ using the model or product number in the search bar.

* If everything is up to date, you can also perform and AC adpter test by tapping ESC key on the keyboard when computer is turnning on, then in the Start up Menu , press F2 key once in the keyboard for System Diagnostics / then select language and then Compónent Test/ withing the list Select Power and in there you will find the options.

* Also run a General Extensive Test performing same steps but going F2/ system test Extensive Test/ run Once ( this one might take a while)

* If any failure code or message , write it down and check your warranty options as well for repair.

I hope these steps can help you !
