HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef0000 (3Y833AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I have purchased my Spectre x360 last November 2022 and have been encountering problems from the start when trying to Sleep my PC when closing the lid.

In the Control Panel, the settings are put on Sleep PC when closing the Lid, weather my PC is on battery or charging.

However, the PC stays on nonetheless.

How can a I resolve this problem ?

Hi @CaroSVC,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is not going to sleep mode when you close the lid, there are several possible reasons for this issue.

  • Power settings: Check your power settings to ensure that your laptop is set to sleep when the lid is closed. To do this, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what closing the lid does.
  • Drivers: Make sure that your laptop's drivers are up to date, especially the graphics driver. Outdated drivers can cause conflicts and prevent your laptop from sleeping.
  • Lid sensor: Your laptop may not be detecting that the lid is closed, so it doesn't enter sleep mode. Check the lid sensor to see if it's functioning properly. You may need to clean the sensor or adjust it if it's loose.
  • Applications: Some applications, such as media players and file-sharing programs, can prevent your laptop from going to sleep. Make sure all applications are closed before closing the lid.
  • Battery: If your laptop's battery is low, it may not go to sleep mode when you close the lid. Charge your laptop fully and try again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello,

All the settings are put as suggested, my battery isn't too low, and my drivers are up to date.

Where may I find the lid sensors ?
