I have had to replace hard drive on laptop and have bought a new Windows 7 dvd but get an error saying selected boot image did not authenticate press enter to continue. I don't have original recovery media is it possible to put windows on hard drive if I get this error without recovery media. Thanks

You would need to go into BIOS and enable Legacy Mode and disable Secure Boot

Secure boot is a feature designed to prevent tampering with the system

People are using their precious remaining lifetime to try and help, so it is common courtesy to come back and tell what the solution eventually was even if you found it elsewhere. It is for the benefit of everyone.
